In the last week, they&#8217;ve put up a free version of Sonar in hopes of &#8230; well I don&#8217;t know what they&#8217;re hoping for. To me, this free Sonar is Cakewalk by Bandlab with a graphics update. I&#8217;m sticking with CbB for the time being, since I&#8217;m retired and a hobbyist who isn&#8217;t rich.</p>

<p>I play because there is always music in my head and 20 years ago with Sonar Home Studio I was finally able to get that music out. I haven&#8217;t stopped since.</p>

<p>I registered at the Studio One site and it is 270 Cdn for a new user to get the Perpetual License, which is &#8220;Perpetual software license or license upgrade with one (1) year of new feature releases included.&#8221;</p>
<p>Does that mean you can always use it but don&#8217;t get updates after a year?</p>
