Caelum Audio plugins have received excellent reviews from journalist reviewers. You don’t hear much about them from the bigger influencers. Why?

Influencers are really just freelance — for-hire — promoters that brands use to promote products. They’re looking to make as much money as they can, and they don’t see the kind of potential payoff from small developers that they expect from larger ones.

Yes, influencers pretend to be unbiased in their videos and blogs — it’s part of how they build trust with their followers, which they market to the highest bidder — but they’re really just freelance promoters trying to make as much money as they can. When they get free product from a developer, there’s an expectation for additional free product in the future if they maintain a good relationship. They may also receive direct cash for their “review,” sponsorship and the promise of sponsorship, advertising or the promise of advertising, and the promise of or potential future paid work with the developer  (influencers typically try to get developers to pay them to do promo videos; it’s standard; a “review” for a small influencer is often seen by the influencer as their foot in the door with a developer to find various revenue opportunities).

Sadly, because of all of this, very small developers will never get much attention from influencers no matter how good their product is.
