Honestly Pete i wouldnt bother. Does it do anything your other plugins don’t? I doubt it. The GUI is pretty horrible too i think. If you really want something tapey and cool then Audiothing Reels and Wires arw two of my favourites. Klevgrand cassette is nice. My ultimate top tape plugin is Tapewave by Wave Alchemy. That is definitely worth the money. It’s on sale just now too. Domt buy Taip just becasuse its ”only” $9. Put that towards the Wave Alchemy one would be my advice. Hope that helps. 🙂

Yeah, I think, between watching the video from the above influencer — who is now a manager at iZotope — who had the takeway that the Baby Audio plugin doesn’t really make great use of AI (I think he did the video before starting at iZotope, if not, that’s a major conflict of interest to not mention that he was reviewing a competitor), I suppose I’ll pass. I had picked up XLN RCS-20 because a developer friend raved about it, but it didn’t really accomplish the kind of subtle vintage vibe I was looking for out of the box. I haven’t spent much time with UAD’s similar analog tape plugin, but I suppose I’ll commit to spending more time with it before picking up another plugin just like it. Thanks, @MrFigg. It turns out that starting a site with a deals forum isn’t a good fit for someone with a plugin / sample library hoarding addiction. Who could have known? 😉

Also, XLN RC-20 is highly tweakable and has tons of additional presets made by indie sound designers, both paid and free, so that alone can get you way more interesting results than TAIP. And if you are after particularly subtle tapey type, Softube is king
