I’d forgotten about this since last Black Friday. Seems kinda in the same ballpark as Musio? What’s the scoop?

This Black Friday it seems to be the thing for sample / ROM developers to sell their whole line in a bundle. I’m seeing a lot of that in posts. This business is really seeing prices come down dramatically. I had drafted an article on that, I guess I’ll make into a blog post, that is an analytical look at it. From a strategy perspective, it’s pretty exciting to see what’s going on in the sample library business. In a nutshell, the older, established players who’ve already long ago paid back their sample library development costs have dramatically changed the industry.

As far as Capsule, they’re a minor player. They are nowhere near the league / level of sample library sophistication (depth / detail of the libraries) of Cinesamples / Musio or 8Dio / SoundPaint, two of the major players that have led the way. Capsule specializes in the lower end of the spectrum detail wise, for non-pro customers who want simple, playable libraries.
