Title says it all.
Friday I saw Ben Folds with the Colorado Symphony.
TL/DR: Despite playing a lot of songs I wasn’t familiar with and skipping some faves, he did actually Rock This Boettcher (Concert Hall).
I took my wife, son, daughter and met up with a friend and his girlfriend. I was worried that my wife and daughter would not enjoy it but they did. Ben Folds’ stories did a good job of laying out the songs. and made a lot of the unknown stuff feel more familiar.
A month ago it was Wilco. No opener, two sets, lots of stuff I hadn’t heard them play before.
My son thought he was clever when he said “They played for three hours and no Schmilco!”. I had to point out that they did play “If I Ever Was A Child”.
We did leave during the encore because my desire to not be stuck in traffic far outweighed my desire to hear them cover “U. S. Blues”.
I would have loved to see Ben Folds! I loved the Ben Folds 5 — they were a great 3-piece band (people who aren’t Ben Fold fans are wondering if my math is bad; but yes, the Ben Folds 5 only had 5 members). Unfortunately, I have not seen any major bands this year. I tried with my family, but couldn’t get them on board for anything but sporting events.

Hi. I was invited to a concert by my niece, with a locally famous (Norway) rock band called Oslo Ess.
It was a great gig, and full on sing along from the audience on most songs.
Before that it was Alestorm (pirate rock kinda thing, with 5 other bands in the same kind of style), invited by one of my nephews. Also one of the best concerts I’ve seen, as they gave it all (all of them) and turned the whole venue into a party.
All the best.
