I can’t remember how or why but I got for about half that a few years back.
It’s a good one. Maybe not for $149 though.

I read that their plugins are physical iLok key only. Is that true?

They don’t mention any other options on the page, so it sounds like they might be, however some developers just state the hardware version for the dongle and still provide either machine, or cloud.
