Yes, Sonar. I moved to Studio One during their too-good-to-pass-up offer when Sonar got cancelled. One of my friends was using Cubase and dissuaded me from considering that – too much nickel/diming him to death. And after all the money I sunk into Sonar, I didn’t want to go there.
Plus, for some reason I lumped Steinberg into the same pot as Avid – professional, expensive, industry standard, slow to implement new technologies, not cutting edge, old cumbersome GUI/human interface. Not sure that’s fair, but that’s what was in my mind.
I’ve found Studio One highly intuitive. It’s easy for me to get around in it. But I admit my needs are simple. I do mostly sparse acoustic instrumentals. No synths here.
