PETER’S TAKE:
This piano plugin goes free every couple of months, at least (if you check various outlets for it). It doesn’t sound very good, IMO, even for a free piano instrument when you compare it to the excellent free piano libraries and plugins that are available.
If you want a great-sounding free grand piano, SonicCouture has one that is compatible with the free Kontakt Player. If you own Kontakt, 8Dio has the most detailed grand piano sample library anywhere and it sounds great (it’s a very old Steinway with a lot of character). It originally had a list price of $249 and it had a lot of favorable reviews at the various forums. The Kontakt version requires the full version of Kontakt, and if you don’t own Kontakt, you can pick up the SoundPaint version — which works in the excellent, and completely free SoundPaint sampler. The one reason I can see to use the Boz free piano is because it’s only 45MB. But if this is alone in a mix, it really doesn’t cut it. Even in mix with other instruments, it’s really only something you would use and later replace with something better, IMO.
