@fleer Here’s a screenshot of the new topics counter at the forum that I added after your request. I tested it on my PC and my mobile (Android). If you don’t mind, I’d be grateful if you could go back and if you can’t see the topics count, if you could please take a screenshot and post it or send it to me.

It would be great if we could see the number of replies to Deals threads, Peter.
3 Comments@fleer I just installed it and I think it’s decent. Take a look and let me know what you think.

Now the number of members says 53, but I use two for testing and the developer has one, so we’re now at 50 actual community members. But go ahead and invite your friends and tell them to send me their desired username, first and last name and I’ll register them during this period. I just don’t want to open to the general public until everything on…Read More

Tuesday night, a good friend of mine texted me to tell me that he had an extra ticket to a concert to see a few 90s rockers, STP, Live and Soul Asylum. Seeing some good ol’ rockers and old friend sounded good to me, so I quickly said yes. He even offered to pick me up. Pretty nice.
My friend told me that he and his wife originally planned t…Read More
2 Commentstell me how many songs you can name with a placenta reference in it?
I’m shocked Alice Cooper didn’t come up with that🤪
Live is an awesome band Throwing Copper rocks.
Stone Temple Pilots are one of my favorite bands, Interstate Love Song rules, too bad about Weiland.
Soul Asylum was pretty cool, Somebody to Shove was an okay song.🤘I did look up the bands and none of them have the original members. Live is only the original lead singer of the band, who doesn’t get along with his former bandmates, so he sued, is using the band name, and has a bunch of different musicians. Soul Asylum is also only the lead singer. STP the original musicians with a different lead singer who…Read More

The other day, a good friend of mine texted me and told me he had an extra ticket available to a concert to see a few 90s rockers, STP, Live and Soul Asylum. I haven’t gotten out much lately, so I leapt at the chance to hang out with a great guy and hear a bunch of old rockers from the era I was playing.

3 CommentsLive, from my hometown of York, PA Of course I was gone when they were forming and playing locally:-(
The lead singer (Ed?) had introduced a song he wrote about York — and I do love the York Peppermint Patty, which I learned from him is made in the town, or at least the company was founded there — although the lyrics for that song were pretty much Spinal Tap territory. I take it the song isn’t very appreciated there. I suppose I could name the…Read More
York Peppermint Patties were made in York, until Peter Paul, and then Hershey bought them. As a kid I used to walk to the factory from my grandmother’s house and buy factory seconds. Still love them.
And yea I recall “Sh-t Towne”, I will say York has come a long way since then, but the eighties it was going downhill.
The older Strand and Capital…Read More

Hi, familiar faces! Looking forward to some great discussions and Larry’s deals!
1 CommentI knew when I said to @cclarry , if I start a new music-making social media site with a forum — basically Facebook for musicians with a forum, would you come with and do your thing? And Larry said he was on board that this place would be special and work.
Now, it’s early on, we only have around 50 registrants — which if fine by me — but…Read More

I’ve sent everyone I’ve registered friend requests. Hmmm… I wonder who will be the first to unfriend me! Haha. I hope not! But if anyone does, I can’t deny that I respect that level of chutzpah to unfriend the guy who created this place! So, don’t worry. you won’t be censored or banned. I’ll leave that to the Kim Jon Un school of developer…Read More
3 CommentsHi Peter – thanks for inviting me to the forum. I’m still finding my way around here but I haven’t seen your friend request (I have responded to a couple of others). Great to see so many people from the forum that shall not be named 😉
Fixed, Joe! Because I’m keeping the site closed to what I’ve called Beta Testers but renamed Early Adopters — which does sound much cooler!!! — I’ve been taking input from the community on feature enhancements — things they’d like to see. But considering I’ve given myself a total budget of $1,000 I can’t hire on a committed developer, but do…Read More

A musician friend of mine recently posted this to Facebook. True. Plus Gilmour is one of my favorite rock guitarists.
2 Comments@cclarry is a talented rock guitarist and does a really good cover of a Pink Floyd song. I’d post it if he’s okay with it.

Reflecting on this day, 23 years ago and my very non-marketing experience handling a forum for 9/11 World Trade Center attack survivors.
I walked into my office in Chicago where I was Director of e-Business Strategy for a Fortune 200 that sustained the third-highest employee casualties in the WTC. By mid-morning I was part of a phone call with…Read More

This site was largely created with a similar MO to the Blues Brothers Movie. We were on a mission and getting the band back together.

I want to thank two major rock stars.
@cclarry — he’s literally the reason that the Cakewalk Deals subforum (it was just part of their Coffee House Forum, you couldn’t even find it easily; what Ashwin from BandLab calls “the legacy forums; used by an older demographic that BandLab doesn’t really care about) — exist, he’s the person that made…Read More

I actually just sold my ’66 Strat and ’69 LP Deluxe this Summer because they were stupid valuable and I would have to climb out of my grave if my kids sold them at an estate sale for a pittance.
I still have:

90’s Takamine Classical (favorite) and easiest to play with arthritis

My brother had a red one when I was a kid, and the first rock album I bought at 5 years old was Led Zeppelin III, which I still love. Jimmy Page cemented my love for the Les Paul. But I’m sure if I played guitar instead of drums that my back might not have agreed with the Les Paul choice.

I think I do have a plugin I know of. I was just waiting to see if people asked for it. The challenge with all of these plugins/scripts is that each one can conflict with another, and adds to the weight of the web pages (making them slower to load and impacting how they perform in search engine results). So, I’ll give it a try. If all goes well,…Read More
