WAVS, the audio sample platform, has unveiled a cutting-edge AI Sample Finder designed to streamline the creative process for producers and musicians. This innovative plugin lets users drag audio clips straight from their digital audio workstation (DAW) into the tool, instantly surfacing similar sounds from the WAVS library.
Touted by WAVS as a pioneering advancement in music production workflows, the Sample Finder helps users locate loops, stems, and textures that blend seamlessly with their current projects. It can also identify samples that echo the vibe of a favorite synth patch or audio snippet.
With a catalog boasting over 100,000 samples, WAVS leverages a sophisticated similarity algorithm to deliver highly relevant results. The plugin automatically matches samples to the tempo and key of the user’s project, making it easy to preview options in context.
Users can refine their search using filters like artist name, mood, energy level, and genre. About half of the WAVS library is royalty-free, while the remaining content requires clearance only after reaching one million streams or being released through a major label.

I don’t use loops or clips. Would a product like this be any benefit to me? I’m not seeing it.

I’m not a loops user either. It’s here because some of our community do use clips and loops. At most, I’ll put in a short recording of something, like in my cover of Gary Numan’s “Cars.” I used audio clips of a car’s engine revving and tires screeching.
