Have you experienced this ZEN state after practicing your instrument for like more than 20/30 minutes, so focused, non stop?
I love it and at some point experiencing it, it’s like you don’t exist anymore (scary thought but it’s awesome).3 Comments-
Aw, well, this feeling I have experienced is out of this world. Focusing on a riff for like 20/30 minutes without thinking is awesome. You don’t even think if you are doing it right or wrong, what finger goes to what fret, if you press it hard or soft. You just play and play and play. One of the best feelings I have experienced. Also, it motivates you to practice. Even if you don’t use a metronome.

I’ve felt that experience more when playing with other musicians. While I have been doing multitrack recordings since I was a kid, playing alone never came close to the experience of playing with other musicians. I think the closest I’ve come since tendonitis stopped my ability to play with other musicians — as I often can’t get through a minute of drumming –even with my fingers — without pain that destroys my timing — was when I got a new DAW PC 3 years ago and pressed record and jammed out I am the Walrus for the first time in my life on the keys. I wish I could get the feeling you’re describing. Playing with good musicians I would regularly feel so inspired and just felt like I wasn’t in the confines of time and space. Music can be so emotional, right? It’s not like anything else. It’s magic when you feel it and it takes you in.
