I love The Eagles. One of the all tine great American country rock bands. Great songwriters. I’ve never seen them live but own some commercial Blu-rays of their concerts I’ve watched many times.

I remember back in the 1980s I was an avid reader of Modern Drummer, and Henley who is quite famously very arrogant, had a featured interview and said something like, “I’m not just some Neanderthal who only plays drums.” The next month the letters to the editor,  the editor noted they’ve never seen so many angry readers replying to Henley’s remarks. Which,  BTW, I still find hilarious. The idea of calling drummers Neanderthals in an interview with the top magazine read by drummers,  that’s priceless! Personally,  I didn’t take offense. I thought the unintended humor value overshadowed everything else. I’m sure the record company PR folks were less amused. Not a great way to promote a new album.
