Reply To: Bapu’s Random Thoughts For The Day

Okay, this seems pretty random, but it’s inspired by Bapu’s rug photo. I enjoyed watching “The Big Lebowski” with my son, a teenager and college sophomore over the summer.  He really enjoyed the movie.

Before that, we watched one of my all-time favorite cult classic movies — which I’m guessing a lot of people here would agree with me on — “Spinal Tap.” Now, he’s Gen Z and not a big rock fan. I tried my best to explain the references in the movie (exploding and dying drummers, arrogant and completely clueless rockers…), but he didn’t even half laugh once during the movie. The funniest lines got no reaction. At a certain point, I replayed a couple of scenes and said things like, “Wasn’t that funny?” And he would say things like, “I guess.” Not a stunning endorsement for funny. I get it. The humor resonates greatly when you understand the real life bands being parodied, but not one laugh from my favorite guy in the world at one of my favorite comedies. But I digress…
