On audioschmaudio saidWhen I saw the video my first impression was “Meh, SongSketch 2 is more powerful”. But then I tested the demo version and I like the workflow. It is easier to use and more flexible. With SongSketch, once you’ve applied the arrangement, it’s baked in and you can’t switch to a different arrangement that easily. There’s an unlisted YouTube video for ArrangerKing from the developer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hWoNk12z78 They have a Reddit forum: https://www.reddit.com/r/ArrangerKing/ There you can make requests for arrangements. They will then create the arrangement template for you – if you’re lucky, which you can import into ArrangerKing. Importing it into your plugin is super-simple: They post a code, like “The_Prodigy__No_Good_Start_The_Dance$ArrangerKing$hpWXn0E0SvDfnKI$” (this example is for “No Good” by Prodigy). In your plugin you click on import, paste that code and confirm, and voila, it’s inside your plugin. I like that. I wish there was an option to say “okay, I like it now, apply this to the volume automation of my DAW”. But it doesn’t seem to have such a feature, unfortunately. It also has a chord tool but it only generates simple triads and you can’t even tell it which key you’re in. I hope they’ll improve that in future updates.
Hmmm… This sounds very much like stream of consciousness — but I’m going to call it Socratic dialogue, but I was following Arranger King and after your post now I want to learn about Song Sketch 2, which I don’t recall knowing much about either of these.
