Let’s resolve this via email. But to update anyone watching, I reset mibby’s password and he received the email the system automatically generated — nothing was changed, but somehow that email didn’t go into his junk folder, or whatever was the issue before. So he’s definitely receiving emails.

I’m fairly confident that the 404 errors trying to access his messages on this site was either because at some point of declining the cookies / permission or having a browser plugin that blocks cookies automatically. So everyone knows, I’m following the GDPR for those practices. I realize that not every music related forum follows the laws, I do. Consequently, if someone refuses the permissions, they won’t be able to access personalized parts of the site like the messaging system or posts, and that’s clearly what Mibby is describing, so I feel that is certainly the issue. It’s the problem most people who’ve reported issues report. 100 percent of the time, when people log out, clear their cache, and log back in, accepting all permissions, they know longer have 404 errors on personalized sections of the site (anyone can read most sections of the site; it requires accepting permissions for personalized sections and password protected portions of the site).
