Yes, by default only a small percentage goes to charity, but there is an option to change the percentages
Personally I usually set the Humblebundle โcutโ to the minimum and split the rest between the charity and the publisher. The UI is a little annoying because of how adjusting one slider auto-adjusts the others and there is no option to โlockโ one.
After tweaking the numbers, you may want to save a screenshot of how much was actually given to charity, in case at the end of the year the aggregate amounts are significant enough to report them on your taxes (Disclaimer: I am not making an assertion that this is deductible. This is not professional tax advice. Use your own judgement and/or talk to a pro. This will depend on your country/jurisdiction)
I know in the US, only charitable organizations are tax deductable, so for Americans — and those in many other countries — there is no tax deduction for Humble Bundle purchases — even if you donate far beyond the value of the items (of course, you can’t claim a charitable deduction when the cost of goods you receive is equal to the amount paid anyhow).
