I’ve added some new Kontakt sample libraries to the list. As always, I only add Kontakt instruments I find to be high quality. To be really candid, when I see other lists of Kontakt sample libraries, they’re often clearly thrown together to get search engine rankings, as there are libraries included that are in nowhere even close to the level of quality and articulations on my list. For example, I see lists with piano libraries where only a few notes in each octave were sampled. There are only 1 or 2 layers and no round robins, and the samples aren’t even polished, professional work. I’ve found that there’s enough free libraries out there that there’s no need to put those kind of libraries on there. The quality of some of the piano sample libraries on my list is really surprising for free libraries. And not just one or two, but several of them contain 4 or more velocity layers and sound great. In just about every category, there are libraries that I would have happily have paid for. This list took 3 years of downloading, playing and assessing libraries, and I’ve found, there’s some great stuff out there for free for the full version of Kontakt and for the Free Player.
