I never wrote or implied that I don’t want you or others discussing your experiences here with developers — good and bad — I do want you and all members sharing their honest experiences good and bad, it helps others. We just need to keep conversations and posts respectful/civil, and this thread is clearly falling short on civility and you’re using this forum to attack another forum member, which is a clear violation of our community policy.
In this situation, I’ve known Peter for more than 20 years, and he’s always been a decent guy. I’ve been an IK customer even before I got to know Peter — I knew Peter before he worked at IK. I’ve been a customer of IK since the early 00s and they’ve always been fair. My guess is that they’re having some kind of issue and not able to deliver quickly (that’s a complete guess) and not handling this optimally. But I cannot imagine that they’re out to screw anyone. I don’t think that they’ve suddenly become a fly by night operation. Are they capable of making mistakes in how they respond to negative feedback — most companies are.
I think you’re just really frustrated, and that’s human. It’s just not okay to use the forum to disparage other members. Now, if you wanted to project it onto IK as a company and express your frustration with the company as opposed to Peter or some employee, I don’t find that to be so problematic. But Peter is a member of this community, and in this community, the rules are to be civil to one another — that’s the part of this thread that needs to change, not sharing your experiences.
Now, if you want to vent to me, you can DM me. I see my role here not as warden, but as a peacemaker, and I want to use my friendship with Peter to see if I can help get this situation that led to this thread straightened out, if at all possible. My guess is that Peter wants the same, but doesn’t have the ability to make that happen quickly. With my own business, my rule is that we must always communicate with the customer, even if we don’t have the ideal news, we still need to promptly communicate, and it seems clear that IK hasn’t done a good job on that level and it’s led to you guys being pretty unhappy. I get that and I empathize. Let’s see if we can change that. I at least want to try to help.
