That’s a nice price, but here’s the fly in the ointment: I know people get mail offers directly from Softube with a $150 price tag. The discount size has something to do with the amount of the previously purchased plugins. Still, gotta say I have pretty much Softube stuff, and not only the cheap ones, didn’t get that mail though. And I’m kinda happy about it, because I wouldn’t pass this challenge, even knowing these tools are precisely and only for mastering. Instead, I took Softube Harmonics for $29 (another mail), a Yamaha PSR-36 on a flea market, and Fender Excelsior amp at the local charity shop. Altogether still cheaper than Softube’s Weiss offer. I guess what I’m trying to say is 1) don’t rush, the price will come down eventually, these mail offers show that there’s more room for that, 2) subscribe to Softube’s newsletter, 3) buy the stuff you need/get the joy out of right now, not some “surely later”. For those who are professional mastering engineers and are making money of it, Plugin Boutique deal is a really good one, the purchase will pay off quite quickly. For others… Curb your enthusiasm. Weiss plugins are top-notch and basically are 100% the same code used in the hardware, but does it make them something we need to buy? Sorry for this reasoning out loud, and please don’t take it as a rant. Love to all of the linked musicians here.
