When I was posting about the updated free Convology XT convolution reverb today, it occurred to me that Wave Arts Tube Saturator Vintage wasn’t on our list. That was definitely an oversight on my part. It is an excellent tube saturator. I was looking up reviews and what well known folks have said about it and the BPB guys said:”…Tube Saturator Vintage sounds incredibly good. The saturation is everything you’d expected to get from a tube amp, or, at least, as close as you can get to it in a software emulation.” However, the downside is that it’s a CPU hog. There’s a more efficient version that lists at $89 and is currently on sale for $49 at the time of this post. But if you want a great-sounding tube saturation plugin for free, it’s an excellent choice.
