I’d be interested in knowing the various acoustic drum sample plugins and libraries we all use. I think Steven Slate Drums sounds great for what it is, an out of the box, pre-mixed drum samples for hard rock and metal. I just don’t find it suits the tones I’m after, although some of the expansions appeal to me. And I know and really like Steven and will eventually invite him to LinkedMucians once we start having more conversations. He’s a really nice, regular guy — and he’s funny as heck. It’s just tough, once you’re deep in the SD3 and AD2 ecosystems and have so many kits and cymbals to switch to a new acoustic drum ecosystem. It’s kind of like making the choice to go with XBOX or Playstation. So, here are my top choices:

1. Superior Drummer 3
2. Addictive Drums 2
3. Abbey Road Drummer Series
4. Various Kontakt drum libraries.
