🆓 Majetone’s FREE Pantomime 4 Synth Plugin

I’ve shared in the past how talented I find the developer behind Majetone to be. SOS recently referred to a recent Majtone instrument they reviewed as “genius,”  so I feel like a sense of discovery and championing this developer early on (I’ve been posting about Majetone for several years now) now that he is getting greater recognition. Candidly, it’s pretty much like that feeling you have when you’re a young musician turning your friends on to new music and new artists.

Several weeks ago, Majetone released and soon thereafter pulled an awesome free synth plugin called Pantomime 4 after there were some issues on the MacOS platform — and some really terrible behavior towards the developer on some forums and social media — the kind of stuff we don’t give a pass here on LM, thank goodness. This is a gifted developer who is trying to build awareness of his work by giving it away. It’s a very honest way to promote his business and it’s a gamble on his part. He put in many hours making this and paid for everything himself without any monetary benefit. The synth is a testimony to his talent and a free way for those of you who’ve never purchased anything from Majetone to see why folks like me and the journalist from SOS speak so highly of the developer.

The new release of Pantomime 4 adds 13 new waveforms / sounds:

PSS MARIMBA 2
PSS MARIMBA 1
PSS HORN
PSS HARP
PSS ELECPIANO 2
PSS ELECPIANO 1
PETER CRAZZ
EP30 PIANO
EP30 HARP

That makes for a total of 25 instruments/waveforms, 100+ presets, and 10 custom reverbs. This synth sounds great to my ears. Check out the preset demo and judge for yourself:

It’s a one-man shop. The developer, James, is a really decent guy. I’ve communicated with him — purely as a customer — several times over the years and he’s always been a really nice, down-to-earth person. When there were some issues on the MacOS and some people — and I’m being nice, because I really mean jerks — became abusive and attack-oriented, from what I can discern, it got to him. People often forget the humanity of one another online. Personally, I created this community because I absolutely loathe that and don’t want to accept that. I think James response to that abuse was to create the ideal process for users at his own expense.

Now, I don’t think it’s going to stop the abusive people from being abusive. Okay, I’ll cut to the chase, toxic people aren’t going to stop being toxic. I suppose it’s even a spiritual thing to me. I want to see talented people like James succeed. I do think that he should require registration to get this, but I think the abusive behavior against his business resulted him in his responding by taking away the registration.

I hope that those who download this and enjoy it to subscribe to his email, and check out his paid libraries and plugins. I own most of them — and I’ve paid like everyone else (no NFRs/freebies), I just really think this developer is very talented and very creative and would love to see him succeed because I love his work and also really apprecaie the way he operates his business. I want to see all talented, ethical, and decent developers like James succeed.

Darn, this new version is Windows 11, only. My laptop is Windows 11, but my DAW PC is Windows 10.

for some reason it does not wotk well on WIN+FLstudio,,,its freezing quit often, if you open something it wont close etc…

 

so not really ready for primetime, i presume some coding issue

That’s a shame. I only own Majetone Kontakt sample libraries — most of them — and they’re really good.

FL is not in the list of tested DAWs on the product specs tab; Cubase, Reaper, Ableton, Logic, Nuendo, Pro Tools, BitWig

Working just fine here in Bitwig Win 11.
