PETER’S TAKE: Based on Autodafe’s video comparison, while Roland’s and Cherry Audio’s Juno emulations are far more realistic and polished, this free synth still sounds very good, and, IMO, is worth picking up.
Ultramaster KR-106 features:
KR-106 is available for macOS, Windows, and Linux in AU, VST3, CLAP, LV2, and standalone formats.
A virtual analog synthesizer inspired by the classic Roland Juno polysynths, with DSP calibrated from hardware measurements, firmware analysis, and factory schematics. 6-voice polyphonic.
Free and open source. AU, VST3, CLAP, LV2, and standalone.
This is video from Autodafe compares the free KR-106 with paid Roland and Cherry Audio paid alternatives. My take is that the KR-106 is worth downloading and installing.
