Okay, I probably don’t know how to do a truly gentle reminder anymore! But this is a reminder. We have a really good deals forum going. I’d love for everyone to venture out into other parts of the site too. But one thing we really need your help with???
Please tell others about LinkedMusicians! There’s still plenty of friends we all have over at Cakewalk Forums to invite over. LinkedMusicians’ Deals Forum consistently has far more deals — I know for fact that we commonly have 5 – 20x the deals — and freebies — than what is posted at Cakewalk Deals Subforum, because I use an AI tool to look over all of the deals at several forums, subreddits, and Facebook and then pick the ones I think are best for our group. Even more, this community has much more to offer than the Cakewalk Forum and we’re committed to keeping this community friendly and helpful.
If you’re looking for ways to persuade people to come over to LinkedMusicians I would recommend mentioning the following:
1.) Great deals and freebies that aren’t easy to find in one place, including on the big online forums.
2.) Regularly maintained curated lists of the best sample libraries for Kontakt and free players. The largest curated list of free Kontakt libraries — and it’s sorted by instrument type. AI tools like ChatGPT and Gemini claim it’s the largest list of free Kontakt libraries there is.
3.) The ability to discuss any developer, retailer, manufacturer, honestly whether you have something positive or negative to say.
4.) No concerns of trolls or bigots making nasty posts. If they happen, they won’t stay here long. We have zero tolerance for trolling, nastiness, bigotry, and — I’ll just say it, jerks who want to take shots at other members.
5.) A regularly update articles from Magazines like Sound on Sound and Mix, the best podcasts, YouTube videos, covering songwriting, composing, audio production, the industry and all things related to making music.
6.) The nicest and most helpful people you can find in an online community from all around the world. Yes, we have a small group, but they’re a great group of people. I’ll take quality over quantity every time.
7.) The ability to share your music and let your peers hear what you’re working on and — if desired — get feedback.
8.) Social media groups where trolls aren’t constantly arguing and posting about politics. Yes, if you have meaningful post with wisdom you’d like to share or something that’s completely stupid funny, we have a place for it.
9.) The ability to setup email alerts to be informed so that you won’t miss that next price glitch sale or a great plugin that temporarily becomes free. We see them all here every month, and there’s always a post from someone bummed out because they missed it. We gave you the tools, if you missed out once, you know what to do to ensure you won’t miss out next time.
10.) LinkedMusicians was started by a former working musician who is very experienced with websites and online communities who poured his heart into this and found some great collaborators/volunteers along the way. Unlike the various forums in this space, this site is different. It’s driven out of a passion for making music and encouragement of others who share that passion. While all of the big online forums, and popular blogs in this space, have become a money grab pushing product, that’s not what this community is about. When you see, “For The Love of Music,” know that is sincerely what drives this passion project. I’m guessing it is what drives our community members too. That separates us from the forums and blogs obsessed with being influencers and making as much money as they can by promoting products. I’m attempting to use affiliate programs to cover the costs of operating this site. I don’t have plans to become an influencer. I don’t have the time or desire. This site isn’t intended to be an outlet to highlight my voice, it is an outlet intended to amplify your voice and music.

This feels like one of the better forums to me. I probably visit this site daily and appreciate all the work and sharing from everyone. There’s always room to improve, but I don’t feel anything negative when using this site.
Thanks! It’s appreciated.
This passion project of mine is the first time I’ve ever done a website that wasn’t simply business, but was driven by my love of music and making music and belief that we can create a community that isn’t toxic. That doesn’t accept bad behavior. It probably couldn’t scale to the size of KVR, as it would be too difficult to moderate — we’d need moderators for every 100 active users!
Don’t hesitate to offer suggestions on how we can make it better for you. Granted, I exhausted the budget I had for the site and went far beyond it, but there are often practical ways to make improvements. The

For anyone who saw a very toxic post that I since removed (it was a clear violation of our site’s policy), it came from a suspended member who created a new account with a fake email address. He was suspended for attacking another member of this community (not me). Before I was certain who it was, I sent him a DM offering that he could redo his comment to not violate the policy. It was then that I found he used a fake email address.
If I shared the behind the scenes stories behind the folks that have been suspended, I think most of the community would be blown away. In the case of this individual, I told him that I just needed his promise to not attack any members in the future and hold to our policy. His response was to drop the F bomb a number of times, call me some very naughty names and end with, “f*ck you and f*ck America!” I didn’t lose my sense of humor, and did reply, “I think this may reflect that maybe you’re not a great fit with a community that is all about being non-toxic. I’m just sayin’…”
Really, I do this thing out of my love of music and 99% of our community have been absolutely wonderful. I wouldn’t have shared this, but I don’t want anyone feeling uncomfortable with sharing criticisms. As long as they’re not ill-intended, mean-spirited, or taking shots at other members, please share them. But I would also say, if anyone is going to be toxic — can you at least be funny too? I have friends who will say the most savage things about each other — but it’s all in fun — and I get a kick out of it. But I don’t get a kick out of people being cruel to one another.
