Forums › ALL THINGS MUSIC › ALL THINGS MUSIC Forum – A Place to Discuss All Things Music-Related
It has become clear that the majority of our community prefers old school forums over the more modern social media format of OPEN MIC. So, today, we’ve reopened the General Discussion Forum previously called The Coffee House. You can post any music-related topics you like here.
Want to discuss the worst gig you’ve ever played? Your most embarrassing moment on stage? Your experiences performing music befoire the public. Your smallest and biggest shows? A great song you just heard? The artists and engineers who have inspired you? A new artist you think others should know about? Your encounters with great musicians, songwriters, and producers and the advice they’ve given you? Challenges getting signed or selling your music? This is the place.
Post anything related to music and music-making that doesn’t fit in the other forums; the ALL THINGS MUSIC forum is the place for it. I’m going to kick it off by borrowing from something I publish to a small group of my personal friends — around 40 or so people in a Facebook Group. I called it “Peter’s Unpopular Opinion of the Day.” The idea is that I’m going to share a real opinion I have that I realize most people won’t agree with. I do it with a self-depricating sense of humor, but I also do it because I’m a people pleaser and realize that telling people things I know they disagree with isn’t as easy as saying things I know they’ll agree with. I invite others to share their unpopular opinions, so I’ll label the topic something that allows us all to post our unpopular opinions — if you accept the challenge!

Check out my music.
Not really a musician, but he did do a bunch of spoken word bits on other peoples albums.
I was doing laundry in Lawrence, KS where I went to college. I struck up a conversation with an old guy who said he was a writer and started asking my opinion about a few things. The guy seemed like a harmless eccentric.
A few days later I realized that guy might have been William S. Burroughs.
