The Brand and Product Research Forum is one of the many features of LinkedMusicians that separate it from online music forums and industry trends towards forums moving father away from open discussions due to the influence of developer owners and advertising/sponsorships resulting in environments that are less than hospitable for honest conversations, or specifically, sharing negative opinions and experiences about the companies that advertise at those forums. One of the major forums in this industry uses contractors — and composer affiliates given NFR product — to talk up products in their forums and talk down competitors in comparisons. While LinkedMuscians is unable to completely weed out such practices in analysis like this, the fact that we analyze many forums and social media groups, enables us to have a more range of user comments to analyze.
Specifically, we’re using AI to perform sentiment analysis of user posts at the big popular online composing, gear, plugin, and other musician and producer-related forums. We use AI to analyze hundreds to thousands of comments to understand user sentiment to help you better understand the opinions and experiences of users of DAWs, plugins, sample libraries, music production-related software and services. Combined with the insights of our community, this enables our members to quickly understand what product and service users think about the products and services you research before you press the buy button. It also reduces your dependency on compensated parties like influencers, who are given free products, gifts, cash, sponsorship, and the promise of future work in exchange for their “review” videos. Consider that popular YouTubers in the digital audio market are receiving upwards of $20,000 US to make a “review video.” Our sentiment analysis will include links to journalist reviews when available, from trustworthy sources that follow journalistic principles and ethics — which do not permit cash or gift kickbacks to reviewers. Sources like Sound on Sound.
There is a subforum where you can submit requests for brands, plugins, or sample libraries you would like to submit for a sentiment analysis. We will conduct a sentiment analysis on those brands and products and services that are of greatest interest to our community. I started with some brands and products that are of significant interest to this community to provide examples. I’d love to get your thoughts, and I hope you will find this a very useful part of LinkedMusicians.
Let me know what you think below! And if there’s a brand, plugin, major sample library, or software title you’re considering, please submit it. It’s all about helping you get the information you need in a useful, time-saving manner.
