shame, tried the free version, seems proper MPE does not work as it should, and mainly time stretching of samples is useless as some samples play quicker than others so with random feature to pick samples (presets) not really playable, lots of bugs reported as per users as well with below video comments, really dissapointment and need to be fixed but seems like it was not in several months since launch

I’m on the road right now, but I’d like to run a sentiment analysis on Soundbox and see if this is something other users are reporting. Sentiment analysis are used brand and marketing strategists; I thought they’d be incredibly useful for consumers researching products and I knew that forum owners of the popular online forums would never copy what I’m doing and present the results unedited like I am, because they’d kill the flow of advertising dollars.

So, I’ll do a sentiment analysis of this developer later today. If that doesn’t reveal this issue, I’ll do another analysis to see if this issue has been reported in the various online forums, and major social media platform groups (while this is all perfectly legal, I am not going to share the details of the specific sites being analyzed because these folks may still want to be litigious and file a C&D to try to hassle me; in fact I know of one developer/ forum owner that would certainly do that; so I’m not specifying the forums analyzed; but let’s just say — they’re there).

I also want to encourage anyone familiar with this issue — and whether it’s been resolved or not — to please comment here. Ideally, you could contact the developer to find what they have to say. After I perform a sentiment analysis, I  may even contact the developer and give them an opportunity to respond. If this problem is indeed unresolved, this is a very good example of one of the differences between LinkedMusicians and the big forums that would censor this IF the developer were an advertiser.

Anyhow,  I’ll get on this by the end of the day.

I ran a sentiment analysis of Audiomodern Soundbox that analyzed the comments on the major composing, plugin, and gear related online forums and social media groups and indeed found that users have been reporting the MPE issues that you mentioned and that, based on the analysis, Audiomodern’s management has acknowledged that there are MPE problems with their plugin and that they are working on a fix, but it doesn’t appear that they’ve resolved the issues at this point. As the analysis was conducted on posts today, I would expect that this means Audiomodern has yet to have announce any kind of date or projection when these issues will be resolved.

I did a quick check into the MPE issue-related statements from Audiomodern and found that the issues include pitch bend malfunctions, problems with saving MPE and pitch settings on iOS, and difficulties with tunings in Ableton Live 12.  The specific MPE issues include pitch bend malfunctions. In earlier versions, there were bugs where bending one note could affect other notes, and the pitch bend was not working correctly. From AI results:

It appears that the MPE issues have been resolved in update 1.06.@vst0ne can you share which version you are using and have had MPE issues with? Is it 1.06 or later or an earlier version?

Although I would strongly recommend trying those using MPE that are considering Soundbox to first test the free player and expansions before making any purchases from the developer.

MPE Still didn’t work for me on version 1.0.7 (file date 2/10/2025) a few weeks ago.  My comments are here

MPE aside, I could not live with the UI (mainly lack of contrast and poor DPI scaling), but other eyes may tolerate it.

Thank you for sharing that, Brian. I recalled that you used Soundbox and was contemplating tagging you. I was very interested in learning if things had been resolved or not after looking at the results of the semantic analysis, as they had basically found that there was a bunch of issues that appear to be unresolved, and I wanted to make sure that, especially if the developer resolved things, that the informaiton was reflecting the current state of things.

i am using also latest one 1.0.7, mpe still have issues but mainly i was dissapointed by time stretching issues where some samples play quicker then others, so not really usable for playing. that basically put me off, i tried to use some of other free banks available, it could be part of the issue possibly if you use random feature where samples and presets are mixed together so then time stretching does not work as it should.
