Dead serious (and yeah, my kids regularly tell me that I’m cringe when I say stuff like this), but you — and when you and my wife, and then me, all went through COVID — your consistent kindness had a lasting impact on me and did contribute to my wanting to create this community to have people like you as a part of it.

Oh yeah, that is incredibly cringey. My kids are right. But, you know, it’s sincere.

Wow, thanks, @mira.

I just wanted to have a place where people are kind to one another, and people can speak honestly about their experiences without pressure to just praise stuff to help developers move more product. I’m not sure my wife would have encouraged me to do it if she knew how much time and money I would spend, and the reality is, when you’re doing a community like this, not everyone is a fit and man, the toxicity of those folks represents why I created this place. I’m just a middle-aged dad who loves making music and don’t just loathe the toxicity commonplace in social media and in forums, I LOVE it when people are kind to one another and you very much embody that kind of kindness, probably a lot better than I do. And the fact that you’ve always been such a kind person while struggling with serious health issues really conveys your character.

I realize that this is just a little community, but how you (I mean, you @mira) treat others even in the little moments like here on the forum, that really reflects who you are and in a moment of unrestrained cringe from me, I think you’re a truly wonderful person and you inspire me to be more kind. (I’m stopping myself from making a joke, because in real life, that is what I usually do.)
