Okay, this isn’t that great of a sale. Toontrack just doesn’t have great discounts on EZmix (although you can pick up EZmix preset packs for more than 40% off, which is a great deal).

I’m posting this because I just upgraded from EZmix3 and love it. For someone like me, who doesn’t have audio engineering skills, having pro effects chains pre-assembled that sound great out is a phenomenal starting point. Highly recommended.

Toontrack never gives heavy discounts to EZmix or SD. I took the 20% off deal earlier this week for their Summer Sale and picked up a preset pack for a deal. I bought it at Best Service. I paid for a different preset pack, but they gave a generic code, that I used on a non-sale pack, Vocals, which is excellent and takes advantage of the advances in ezMix 3. The truth is, I’d never be able to set up an effects chain anywhere close to as good as the weakest preset, so, for me, it’s a great fit. I realize a lot of our members are far more knowledgeable on audio engineering than me.  I’m a 1 or a 1 on a 10 scale when it comes to my knowledge of that area. I fiddle with effects and I own a ton of plugin effects—and some of my old outboard gear from back in the day — but I pretty much have no idea how to put together a really great effects chain; it’s way over my head. So, when I can select a preset and instantly get something that sounds great — like I can with EZmix 3, I’m pretty happy about it.
