I have a ton of this developer’s plugins, as he deep discounts them so greatly, they can be hard for a plugin hoarder like myself to pass up. But it does blow me away that so many small software developers simply pay for cheap shared hosting on a server with probably 100 other sites and don’t even use a content delivery network (AKA a CDN, the most well known brand being CloudFlare) so that their site doesn’t choke when it’s getting a lot of traffic at times like this or during big sales. If I didn’t know a developer and saw this occurring, it wouldn’t inspire me that the developer knows what their doing when it comes to coding plugins. Seriously. I realize that these guys are small business people, but if a website is going to be your business’ public face and means of product distribution, you really should take it a lot more seriously.
And that concludes the kindness portion of this thread… 😉
[Hey, I like this dev. I just think he needs to take more care with ensuring his site is reliable, because his site has show stopping problems every time he has a big sale of freebie.]
