Finally I got to post our own deal here, sorry that I get scooped every time and feel badly when Peter #1 and others end up having to post them.  But I appreciate it deeply.

First, note that this (nor the Stupid Deal of the Day that Peter #1 posted earlier) qualify for the Group Buy.  But they are both very good deals and might check some boxes for those who were not feeling the Group Buy.

This is a killer deal as is the one I posted from Musician’s Friend. Even for $20, that PianoVerse Upright Piano alone would be a steal, but add a MODO bass instrument, a MODO drum kit, a De-Esser, and T-Racks EQ81 — and then a bunch of Sampletank sample packages and it’s in the no-brainer category for anyone who isn’t already doing the Group Buy. It seems you guys are bombarding the market with really crazy, hard to resist deals. I have been slow to add the deals of the week, but 3 of them are going to be IK deals. Unfortunately, with parent-teacher conferences going on (right now — I’m in between them) and the Cubs in the NLDS in a little over an hour, I won’t be able to create that post until tomorrow.

On a PianoVerse related note, @peter-ik, a few months ago I saw the developer for Xperimenta Project in Facebook come up as someone I might know. I’m a customer and love his work — it’s outstanding — but I don’t know him beyond that (I’ve never interacted with him, as his libraries have been flawless and all the transactions have been flawless as well in the several years I’ve been a customer). But I noticed it said that it showed that he’s working at IK. I was just wondering, was he involved in sampling the PianoVerse libraries? I suppose I’m interested just because I have found his libraries to be so well done.

No. As Peter-ik wrote in the original post above, the Humble Bundle deal or the Musicians Friend deal I posted earlier doesn’t qualify for the IK Group Buy.

IK has a bunch of deals going on right now that are very deep discounted, and the ones that are very deeply discounted don’t qualify for the Group Buy — plus the minimum price you have to pay for entry in the group buy is $49. Plugin Boutique is still selling Amplitube and Tonex for $29 each, which is a phenomenal deal — I still don’t own Tonex and constantly see people posting about how great it is (so, of course, I can’t help but want to get it!)  — but that’s a special promotion that doesn’t qualify for the IK Group Buy. So, it’s a choice of whether you want a ridiculously great deal that doesn’t qualify for the Group Buy or get something that isn’t as amazing as a deal that does qualify. That’s basically the choice.

I think, if someone only has twenty or thirty dollars to spend, the Humble Bundle deal is an incredible deal. If you have more, the Group Buy clearly is a pretty crazy deal — and the IK folks and our friend Peter knows how to tap deep into our GAS.

On a related note, I think, in the future, I may be working with some developers to do some Group Buys here on LinkedMusicians. Years ago, I worked with several developers to do them at the big forums. BTW, at our current rate of growth, we could see similar visitor numbers to VI-Control within the next few years.
