Establishing relationships with various developers commonly means that you get a heads up on promotions and new releases.
Consequently, I was just informed by the United Plugins folks that they have a new plugin being released on March 10, 2025 that will be free for the first 10 days before going on introductory pricing. It’s a saturator plugin that’s a cutdown version of an existing plugin that I just demoed and really like — especially on bass guitar — that I think will be well worth picking up.
Usually info / press releases like what I received state an embargo with a date — an agreement between the brand and those receiving the info that it can’t be made public until a certain date — but this didn’t include one. However, the linked product states that it’s not a released product. So I’ll share this info without the product’s name, just in case:
“[Product name] is an analogue-style saturator plugin that offers an exceptional feature: after saturating your signal, the added harmonics are detached, a widening algorithm is applied to them, and then they are blended back with the original audio signal.”
March 10, 2024. Mark it down. I’ll do a post about it then, but I wanted to make sure that everyone in our community was aware of it. You read it here first!

And just to be clear. While I have big plans for this community — I will finally open it to the public this month as I have enough people posting that I can focus on everything else — this community will always put musicians, composers, and producers first, not developers, advertisers, or affiliate relationships. I’m always going to be transparent. The ideals of this site are that it’s first and foremost for musicians, composers, and producers of all kinds. I need sources of revenue to keep this site going, so I’ll be putting up a way for community members to donate, and I’m also looking to affiliate relationships and eventually advertising to fund the site. But no advertiser’s or developer’s needs will ever come before those of musicians, composers, and producers. I’ve been involved in digital marketing since the 90s. I’ve written on it, spoken on at events around the world and at universities. What I’m doing here isn’t all about marketing. It’s all about my love of music and my desire to encourage others. The deals that we’re addicted to is just a part of that love of music. It’s the first community that I’ve ever managed or created that I did out of passion — something that I love — and not as part of my profession.
Everyone’s honest opinions of products and services is always going to not only be welcomed — but encouraged — whether it’s positive or negative and I’m going to be sharing my own honest views on products and services I used, both positive or negative. If a developer ever pressures me to do otherwise, they will not succeed and I may even share their attempt publicly so the community can understand the realities of what I’m doing with LinkedMusicians.
Developers will be encouraged to be part of the community, but they will not be protected from honest conversations. This community is founded on honest, respectful conversations.

I just heard back from the marketing folks from MeldaProductions / United Plugins and they gave me the go ahead to share the info on their soon to be released plugin that is the topic of this thread. So, LinkedMusicians broke this story! Hahaha. But it’s true.
The new plugin is called WideFire. It’s a cut down version of DarkFire. United Plugins will be making it free for 10 days from March 10th – 19th and then putting it on introductory pricing of €9 (March 20-April 30) after which it will sell at a list price of €29.
Picking up WideFire during the free period will also give you the opportunity to upgrade to DarkFire at a reduced cost. Here’s a screenshot of WideFire:

I am curious about it. Thanks Peter! I have to say, a few days ago, I’ve got Autoformer from United Plugins and it is super awesome! Most probably this plugin will be awesome as well! Thanks for the heads-up!

And it’s live: https://unitedplugins.com/WideFire
You beat me to it! Kudos for being on top of it! I was actually just about to post it when I saw that you already did.
I don’t know if you caught my notification or thread, but LinkedMusicians system emails and email alerts are now connected up with a reliable email service provider, so you should now be receiving them. I’d recommend that anyone who wants to follow a forum or topic, it’s a great way to be informed about the site. And now, if anyone wants to reset their password, they don’t need to contact me to do it.
I also set up feeds for magazines and YouTube channels, which I personally love and have already been enjoying using. Check the site navigation bar under resources.
All of this stuff has been on my to do list, but was delayed when I had to switch to posting deals, but since a number of folks have been pitching in posting deals, I’ve now had more time to work on the site. So I spent basically all weekend working on this stuff — getting the email system setup, getting the magazine and YouTube feed setup — and everything is now running smoothly.
Consequently, the next step is preparing and testing the public registration form, which I plan to work on this week and I expect that the site will be open for public registration before the end of this week. For the record, we’re continuously seeing non-registered visitor traffic rise and dwarf the number of registered users. We’re also seeing LinkedMusicians rise in ranks in search engines and AI. I used Google’s generative AI yesterday to ask what were the best online communities and it listed several sites, including LinkedMusicians! Although, it didn’t mention that there was no way to register! So, I’ve done a number of things to help make all of that happen and I would consider that everything is going even better than I anticipated at this point.
I’ll update everyone when public registration is open. Then, we can all get the word out about LinkedMusicians and grow the community. Even I haven’t contacted developer friends and acquaintances to talk about the site yet. @Peter-IK found out about LinkedMusicians and contacted me a few days ago. Of course, I have a plan for ways to promote the site, but nothing is more important that our community telling others about it and I’ll be sharing ideas on how to do that in the near future.

Nice find.
Played with it for a couple of minutes with a mix I’m messing with, seems to work OK (does was its supposed to).
Added to my collection of widener/exciter plugins.
Note that in Cakewalk/Sonar* for the VST3 you’ll need to search for it as it is not found under a UnitedPlugins folder.
*Haven’t tried it yet in any other DAWs.
