Wait, this appears to be only for subscribers of Beatport, which sharing constitutes piracy, which is clearly defined as violating our community’s rules. Understand it puts this site (me) in legal liability, with instant major legal fines, and our rules state that sharing codes meant for subscribers gets a ban.

I’m going to assume that the folks here didn’t know this was for Beatport subscribers and I won’t be banning anyone, but please, moving forward, do not share codes meant for paying subscribers. It is legally defined as piracy.

Yeah, I actually picked it up from a Facebook Group I’m in and didn’t realize that either until someone pointed it out. Here’s what people don’t realize, when you post that — and yes, it’s rare for a company to go after small offenses — but what they can do? Sue the site where the codes were shared and the law requires the website owner to provide the data on the persons who shared the pirated information, so both the sharers of the information and owners of the website where the sharing occurred are legally liable. While I’m known for digital marketing, branding, and somewhat for business ethics (a Wharton ethics professor once wrote on their site that every Wharton student should be reading my writing to better understand business ethics), I somehow picked up a reputation for international marketing law and regulations to the point where Interpol quotes me by name in their documentation.

I know. In fact, in the last week BandLab permitted their users of Cakewalk Forum to disparage members of this forum — and the worst wasn’t about me, it was an underhanded remark speculating that a member of this forum is “autistic.” If anyone wants to report that post to have it removed, please do. It’s reprehensible that they leave something like that up on their forum.

And yet if any of them posted “LinkedMusicians” it would quickly be censored and they would be penalized (actually, I’m pretty sure someone here posted or messaged me that someone did mention LinkedMusicians in that same thread and it was quickly censored / deleted). That is the same company that leaked my (and others) personal data numerous times from glitches on to their website, and despite my numerous requests for them to remove my personal data they exposed, more than 40 days after my request, it remains there. Ashwin told me it was going to be removed. I suspected he could have been lying, but gave him the benefit of the doubt.
