Looking over the analytics last night, I was happy to see that our month-over-month traffic growth of 40 to 60 percent has continued and we’re now approaching 2,000 unique visitors per week, or 8,000 unique visitors per month (FTR, unique visitors = different people or, at least, different devices accessing the site). I did anticipate that we’d see a bump in traffic as we neared Black Friday, but we’re actually doing a little better than what I expected.
Of course, those kind of numbers are far less than the big forums in this space. KVR gets 400,000 or more visitors per month. VI-Control claims to get more than 110,000 unique visitors per month, but advertisers using measurement say that the public claim is a gross exaggeration, that the real number is closer to half of that. A third party estimate for GearSpace estimates more than 110,000 unique visitors per month, but I would guess that they receive much more traffic than that; easily twice or more traffic than that estimate. A lot of LinkedMusicians’ early members came from Cakewalk Discuss Forum — specifically a very small part of the forum that probably only see a couple of thousand unique visitors per month, so we’ve already far exceeded that. Ahrefs estimates that the entire discuss.cakewalk.com subdomain (all of their forums) receives 4,800 unique visitors per month. I would guess that the Discuss deals subforum only sees 1,000 or less unique visitors in a month based on the views shown for each thread.
We’ve come a long way and I want thank our volunteers and the entire LinkedMusicians community for being the most important part of this adventure. We’ve only been open to the public since April 2025 and seeing this kind of growth this soon is an undeniable sign of our progress. More good things are coming in the year ahead.
