UPDATE: Apparently I shared this one before it was released. I’m not sure when it’s coming out, but I would still love to get other thoughts. For $22, this seems like a no-brainer.

I’m strongly considering getting this and would love to get feedback from anyone experienced with a vocal alignment plugin, as I’ve never used one before and am really not certain what to look for.

I record vocal harmonies and would find this useful. I have considered SynchroArts VocAlign — which is around $100 with my crossgrade discount — and then there’s Waves Sync VX which is currently at $129.99 (yes, a Waves plugin that isn’t $29 or $39, go figure!), but at $22 and considering my very good experiences with Melda plugins (thanks to @superrabbit),my expectations are that this would be a very good product at a no-brainer price compared to VocAlign or Sync VX.

Thanks for the heads-up, I wasn’t aware of this new plug-in. I must try it on drum tracks.

Demos are our friends, and MeldaProduction lets you use a plug-in with no restrictions for a couple of weeks before it switches to noise burst protection.

I use Vocalign and it’s been brilliant for those dense style Beatles/Queen/XTC harmonies — if that’s your thing. I have never used it in the deep editing modes because its automatic alignment has worked out well for me.

For $22 you almost don’t even need to demo the Melda offering. If I had time to demo I would and report back but this weekend is filled with gigs.

I have Vocalign 5 and it’s great. You select a guide track, then sync the others to it. It looks like MTracks does something similar. They are keeping it in Beta for awhile longer, so are still working on it. Here are instructions on how to use it.
