It seems like Musio is showing a lot of progress. I’m trying to watch my budget — the reality is — and I’m sure I’m not alone, I’ve already accumulated far more sample libraries and plugin instruments than I use. My take when it came out was it seems like an excellent deal, Cinesamples is obviously a top notch developer, but I held back for a couple of reasons, the main one being that it used a proprietary player instead of Kontakt. Had they used Kontakt this would have been an easy decision. But from what I can discern from reading their updates, they’ve really put a lot into improving their player. @Brian @bapu Both of you own or subscribe to Musio (I take it Brian does or is at least following their progress)? I’d love to get an update on how you think they’re doing, especially with regard to the player. Because of they nail the player, it seems like a fantastic deal.

I actually bought in back on the lifetime deal. To be honest, it looks like just getting Musio 1 “might” have been a smarter move, because so far, nothing has been released (yet) that is not included in “1”. Time will tell, of course. I have watched all of the devs YT videos discussing their dedication to and vision for Musio, and so far they are keeping their word. I like Musio engine MUCH more Kontakt, BUT I never purchased a single Cinesamples library, so I didn’t have to deal with remorse over duplicating content or “paying again” for Musio. I believe they are 100% “all in” on Musio, but can they sustain their cash flow (stay in business) under the new model? I hope so.
This page lists what’s in Musio 1. Iceland; South Africa; and Ireland previously had the ‘soon’ badge, and Scotland still does at time of posting. I suspect their next library will eventually be in Musio 2.
On antler saidI suspect their next library will eventually be in Musio 2.
I certainly hope so.. want to get some value out of the “lifetime” which cost 2 1/2 times what Musio 1 does.

Just a little sample library history for everyone. Cinesamples became beloved in the composer world for their brilliant Kontakt scripting. It was considered very innovative. In fact, that’s where I first heard of the name Greg Schlaepfer. He was the person doing that Kontakt scripting prior to founding Orange Tree Samples. I don’t have any Cinesamples paid libraries. While the Tina Guo and their Piano in Blue libraries sound fantastic to me, I’ve just been watching my budget. But sooner or later I’m going to buy Piano in Blue. That sound is just incredible to my ears. The Tina Guo cello libraries also sound fantastic, but, in the end, have too much reverb baked in for my tastes, and since I learned on this forum that there’s an Abbey Road Quartet library — I know what I want for Christmas. (Not even kidding).
