NOTICE: Cakewalk by BandLab Will Be De-Activated Next Week [NOT A DEAL]

Just a reminder that if you use Cakewalk by BandLab, it will no longer work after August 1, 2025. You can install their free — for now — version of Cakewalk Sonar to continue working or open Cakewalk by BandLab files, which will work until BandLab decides that it no longer wants to keep activating it for free (I’d give that 2 years or less; a lot less, actually). Note that BandLab has abandoned the Facebook page for Cakewalk in March of this year and has basically given up on their subreddit which is extremely negative regarding BandLab. It’s very clear that the Cakewalk Sonar is a failure and does not have long before it gets pulled from their lineup.

i hope Cakewalk Sonar isn’t going to be pulled soon. i have almost 18 starbucks coffees invested over the past 6 months…

lol.

pretty sure people who use CbB will find the free version of Sonar to be quite good, and free. same for Next. the upgrade to free Sonar is easy, free, and effective. 97% of people making the switch agree.

I’ve had some crashes and issues at first, but the latest update seemed to improve things. I don’t know about 97%. BandLab’s complete indifference to accessibility was certainly a problem for mamy users and there are a lot of problems that have been documented on their forum, and even more in the Cakewalk subreddit where BandLab censors, but not quite as much as they do in Cakewalk Forums.
