The New Version of FL Studio Incorporates an AI Chatbot That Seems Very Useful

The latest version of FL Studio has an AI assistant that offers advice on songwriting, music theory, production, and mixing. I have to hand it to them for being first to make AI truly useful to musicians / producers in a DAW.

I tried it out in the early 00s and really liked it. I didn’t stick with it because of time constraints. I tend to just use a DAW as a recorder while I play the tracks in real time. But this does seem like a feature every DAW should have in the age of AI. There are other new features, but the AI chatbot caught my attention.

I am impressed with the Image-Line’s consistent innovation in FL-Studio, considering that updates are free.  I just wish the devs would address its anemic MIDI hardware and routing support.

I am a heavy FL DAW user.  The built in AI thing is interesting. But slow as hell on my system. It takes a while for it to return results. I use it mostly for searching for advanced help with the software as there as so many different ways to get the same thing done in it and there are right click sub menu settings within settings buried within settings. Sometimes quite frustrating to try to remember them all. But they also managed to hose some VI compatibility. I recently found out a feature that I use in IKM ST4 that worked fine in 2024 is now broken in 2025. 🙁
