NOTE: This is an incredible deal. As I own most Universal Audio plugins, I especially love Sound City, Capitol Chambers, and Hitsville Reverb Chambers — which are all plugins that normally aren’t part of the low price deals like this one (last year, the Select 2 was priced at $79 on discount; personally, I owned the Signature Bundle V2 — I still haven’t upgraded to V3). The fact that you can get two of them for $22.05 each is mind-blowing to me. Really, for me, Universal Audio was the plugin developer that made me stop buying Waves. Those really are some great prices.  I’ve watching their reverb for a while and this is the time to take the plunge.

Like you, I wish that UA could take the Abbey Road stuff from Waves.  First, because UA does an amazing job with everything they touch, and secondly, I’m still peeved about that Waves subscription thing.  I find I can’t quite manage to trust them.  Fool me once  . . . .

I completely agree.

It’s funny, managing this site brings out the dad in me — I feel a strong obligation to watch over the community and make sure that everyone is aware of various practices of developers and retailers (only a small fraction of our visitors are members; consider that on the first of February, we had more than 500 unique visitors — the subforum many of us met easily only gets 500 – 1,000 unique members per month and we hit that in a day this month).

I’m pretty careful about what I recommend and feel compelled to make a statement about when I don’t feel so good about a developer or its practices, and Waves is a developer that I rarely post deals from because (1) they’re literally constantly running sales — basically the same one, (2) I am not a fan of their marketing practices, and (3) I am not a fan of their WUP and subscription practices, and like you, I don’t have a great deal of trust for their management.  Consequently, I don’t feel good about putting up a deal post for Waves without explaining to people how WUP and their various practices work. So, it’s a bit of a hassle to even put anything up from them. But, as you know, I really love their Abbey Road plugins despite the one-machine limitation and WUP. Out of probably 50+ Waves plugins, the Abbey Roads plugins are the only ones that I will surely pay WUP for.
