Unbroken Oath
(Verse 1)
The winds may howl, the ground may shake,
But we don’t bend, we never break.
The lines were drawn in blood and stone,
This house still stands, we’re not alone.
(Pre-Chorus)
They scream for change, they tear it down,
But we won’t bow, we hold our ground.
A vow was made, a truth so strong,
We’ll stand our post, we’ll right the wrong!
(Chorus)
Unbroken oath, the fire burns,
Through rising tides, the wheel still turns!
We walk the path, the old remains,
Through storm and strife, we hold the chain!
(Verse 2)
The world may twist, the rules may fade,
But honor’s debt is never paid.
A thousand voices cry for more,
But we defend the ancient core!
(Bridge)
No retreat! No surrender!
Stand as one, forever stronger!
No retreat! No surrender!
Break the weak, we will remember!
(Final Chorus)
Unbroken oath, the fire burns,
Through rising tides, the wheel still turns!
We walk the path, the old remains,
Through storm and strife, we hold the chain!

The vocals and some of those guitar parts really grabbed my attention. The drummer did an excellent job. Bass player’s pretty dang good too! @Bapu, I’m trying to put my finger on the influences. Iron Maiden? The organ seems to have shades of Jon Lord. Wait, that organist is Bitflipper! Cool!
Really, superb job by everyone. The songwriting and the performance on this are absolutely top notch and the drum sound and playing sounds perfect for this song. I would think that Warren would have to agree. Kudos to everyone involved in this track. It just all fit together great.
Did you write this song? It’s very, very good.

Did I write the song? Yeah, but since I let everyone do their thing, their way, I don’t like that kind of “bragging rights”. I’ll remain happy with arranger since that’s just chords and parts in the prescribed order.

This tune is “full of nift!” 🙂
I’m a power chord monkey from way back, and quality chuggage always gets a thumbs-up from me. The song has good groove/movement to it. I love the lower register tone of the drums (I’m not a fan of ultra top-end snare “sizzle” Drop that wire mesh thingie, mon! lol)
The bass comes across well – not too high and no sub-level mud whatsoever. Locked in tight with the drummer, you are!
Guitar solos are pretty tasty, without being self-indulgent. They fit the song and the genre, and who could ask for more?
I also noticed a Jon Lord vibe in the keys parts. Peter and I are on the same wavelength on that observation, methinks.
As to the subject matter: do I detect some sort of military undercurrent, or is it just my own veteran mindset playing little tricks on me?
“Irregardless” (as my dear Dad so charmingly erroneously says), I liked it. Good lyrics are such a joy (and I have some experience in the lyric writing department, so I can say things like that. lol), and these lyrics deliver better than any six Irving, Texas DoorDash nincompoops.
All in all, a good song. Keep rockin’!
