Microsoft has announced that Windows 11 now includes:
- Windows MIDI Services, a modern, high‑performance MIDI platform.
- Full MIDI 2.0 support with higher resolution and per‑note expression.
- Improved MIDI 1.0 compatibility and timing without requiring app updates.
- Multi‑client access so multiple apps can use the same device.
- New MIDI Settings app for managing and renaming endpoints.
- Built‑in loopback and app‑to‑app MIDI routing.
- Automatic MIDI 1.0 ↔ 2.0 translation for seamless use across devices and apps.
- New USB MIDI 2.0 class driver and more features coming soon.
