So what are the riffs you typically use when trying out new gear?
For example, I can’t seem to audition bass libraries without playing that riff from “The Chain” by Fleetwood Mac. If I am auditioning a synth, I’ll probably play the riff from “The Final Conflict” at some point.
If I’m trying out an acoustic, I always like to do “From The Beginning” by ELP just because. Sometimes I’ll play “Long Train Running” to check out how chords feel around 7th fret.
It’s hard for me to play a single coil guitar without doing “Apache” lately.
As a keyboardist, I commonly play blues progressions and riffs when I check out pianos and piano or electric piano on a synth or MIDI controller.
