I’m just getting back in the saddle after managing to get a prolapse in my lower back, and fracture in the middle of my back at the start of February..
I’m doing some mixing, and some shouting on a Citizen Regen song these past weeks.
I’m still not able to sit at my studio desk for more than 45-60 mins a day for the time being.
      Plus trying to…Read More

Sorry to hear what you’re dealing with, but I’m glad to know that you’re on the mend. @bapu was one of our earliest LM members, and is a great guy and, of course, a talented musician. I put one his songs with Fizzy Pickle on the first LM Mixtape and plan on doing a Mixtape of heavier rock music with Citizen Regen on it.…Read More

I bought Wave Alchemy Triaz a couple of days ago and already nearly done with a song. I haven’t recorded more than 8 bar loops for over a year so I’m pretty pleased. Inspired.
I’m also totally pissed off that I bought the Caelum Audio sample bundle. Total crap.

Citizen Regen is working on the 2nd part of “concept” song that may well be over 45 minutes long if not more.

45 minutes or more? I’m a huge Yes fan. Their longest song is around 24 minutes. ELP’s Karn Evil 9 is around 29 and a half minutes. 45 minutes???-Wow!!! Be sure to share it in the Song forum. I realize that it doesn’t get a lot of traffic at this point, but our community is growing, and I’m fully committed to that forum. Also,, I plan on…Read More

Now that Studio One appears to be working well for me, I am re-learning the DAW while also learning the Synthesizer V version 2 (vocal AI) that I just acquired. Studio One is great. and I think Synth V can do a nice vocal performance if I can stop rewriting the melody/lyrics.

I love this. Rock-Jazz-Fusion band, Vital Information, is given a song and are challenged to quickly come up with a unique arrangement. In this case, they are presented with the Soundgarden song, “Black Hole Sun,” and I think they absolutely kill it. Just a great job.

When I first heard Reid’s music, I bought every CD he had. I compared his talent to Jeff Buckley. It’s a testimony to how screwed up the industry is that he isn’t a name every rock musician knows. I try to do my part and tell others about him.

I am caught between these two names for the official LinkedMusicians stuffed bear. I want a name that's silly and fun -- and of course ties into the LinkedMusicians brand. Linkey does that, although it might lack enthusiasm. Shredward Van Fluffen is ridiculous, and I love that although I actually was never a Van Hellen fan -- it's simply the ridiculousness of it. I promise to include this bear in future photos and video. What do you think? If you have more suggestions, please post 'em! FTR, the name will only be shown on the listing, not the bear itself.

Which name do you prefer for the official LinkedMusicians stuffed bear?

When I am in a reminisce mood, I put on some Beach Boys, Queen, Dire Straits, Doobies, Toto, CCR, Steely Dan… Gotta be up-tempo so I don’t fall asleep leaning on my shovel. It’s cool how different these two bands are and you enjoy them both! I’m right with you. I don’t really care what genre something is, I’m open to all of it. Nice share!

yeah I’m as eclectic as owt 🙂 I went to see Saor, a death metal Celtic band, a few months ago! Those were two genres I would never imagine co existing. I prefer Olcay’s vocals though 🙂

Okay, sorry for the side issue here, but is anyone seeing the YouTube video in Joe’s above comment? I don’t and that was the issue I just had the dev work on at the site that I thought was fixed.

Probably my fault as my links are to the YouTube channels rather than a specific video

What was odd was that I couldn’t reply to your comment @peter

When it hits 9 nested tables, you can’t reply to a reply anymore. Facebook and Reddit go 10. I’m not sure why this was written to stop at 9. I’m sure lamia6 could do a much better job of explaining it and why they might have stopped at 9 instead of 10.

Ah thanks! I wondered why you had started another thread on same subject!

Just go to the last spot where you can choose reply to keep things together. But I like the free flowing real time capability of the GROUPS. It’s clearly a knock off of Facebook. It’s far superior to the forum for free flowing conversations. The forum is great for storing things we want to share for a while with a large audience. But the GROUPS…Read More

I think, in time, I would like to have occasional meetups with audio. Say, like a monthly meeting where we can discuss things, it can be wide open and then get into discussion on what we would like to see at the site.

Low hanging fruit grab- but on this site it should go to eleven.

On that note, did I share with you guys that a couple of years ago I watched one of my favorite movies — Spinal Tap — with my son, then 18 and he didn’t laugh even once. I remember saying to him during a funny line, “That’s funny, isn’t it???” His response? “I guess.” Before the month is over, I want to watch it with my daughter. She’s more…Read More

Tell me about an artist you really enjoy that’s not super popular that came out within the last decade or so.

There’s a bunch for me, but lately, I am listening to a lot of Madison Cunningham, and my wife is as into her music as I am. I would describe her sound as what you might come up with if you put the music of Jeff Buckley, The Bea…Read More

What’s the last artist you were listening to (no, don’t say you, it should be someone else!)? I think this could be a good way to know one another a little better and possibly get exposed to new music.

For me it was Madison Cunningham. For those unfamiliar with her, she’s an incredibly talented artist that can write, play, and sing extremely…Read More

What was the last artist that you were listening to (your own not included)? Find a link to it and share. It could lead to learning about new artists (new to us, at least). For me, it was the amazing Madison Cunningham. If you could put The Beatles, Jeff Buckley, Joni Mitchell, and jazz guitarists into a blender, that’s kind of what Madison’s…Read More

I was made aware of the music of the profoundly talented Madison Cunningham around a decade ago. She’s the musical heir of Jeff Buckley in many ways, an artist I really greatly appreciated. Her music has been in my headphones for many hours when working on this site.
