Is it just me – or is there a general thing at many open-mic events where people chat throughout performers’ sets? It’s a tad frustrating!
I’m going to have to purchase a massive stack and turn it up to 11!

You’re spot-on, Joe. A few open-mics that I’ve been to, the audience really respects the musicians and there’s definitely also an unwritten law that says that if most people are keeping their conversations generally quieter, then they will too, however, one open-mic that I performed at recently was at absurd conversation level even before it…Read More

Thank you, Tom, your words are much appreciated. I handle all of the elements in the recording – and bass guitar isn’t my first instrument, so I go for feel more than anything. With some songs on the album (e.g. Fireflies), I’ve gone for a synth bass, which may well scratch the itch.

I’ve just released my second album ‘Night Call’. Sound-wise, it has a darker edge to it. Think along the lines of ’80s/90s synth bands but brought right up to date. Sound-wise, there are elements of The Cure, the darker side of Depeche Mode, Editors, early Verve, Radiohead etc.
