I’m really digging some artists posted here that I didn’t knew about!
Here’s my contribution, I really like Mark Lanegan and this album is truly great to my ears:Nitrate Audio posted in the group Music That Inspires You / What You’re Listening to
I started teaching myself bass and have been listening to old Police and Sting music to pickup some bass lines. Its good stuff.

When made a post about an artist that inspires me, I didn’t really expect to find him and his musical partner to find it here on LinkedMusicians. But they did, I want to share more of the music of @reidjamiesonmusic, an artist I would put up there with Jeff Buckley, Kevin Gilbert, and Madison Cunningham. This was from the album where I first h…Read More

It was at least a decade and a half ago when I became familiar with singer/songwriter Reid Jamieson. He’s an incredibly talented artist from Vancouver. He has one of the best voices I’ve ever heard in rock and he’s a very talented songwriter. I might have learned of him through Wilco, as they are huge fans, and some band members worked with him…Read More
4 CommentsWe were there to see this Polish band for the first time after loving them since this album (with Nigel Kennedy on fiddle) was released https://youtu.be/FN5XrQoUiP0?si=ZIa4qdE8lU1nQuEd
Thanks kindly Peter! We sometimes feel like we are making music in a vacuum, shout outs like this keep us going 🙂

Another great Show of Hands song that moves me to tears when sung by thousands of voices at a folk festival

I’m really looking forward to seeing the outstanding Canadian singer / songwriter James Keelaghan at the Black Swan Folk Club here in York, England in a few weeks time. His song ‘Cold Missouri Waters’ is possibly the most moving song I have ever heard and he has plenty more up to the same standard. Check him out – he’s a great performer too!…Read More
8 CommentsCool. I wasn’t aware of James Keelaghan and his music before today.
Now, I know you probably think all I do is listen to rock and anything with loud drums (Animal from the Muppets is my hero, it’s true!), but I love folk rock. My father’s favorite band when I was a kid was SImon and Garfunkle, and I quickly became a fan of the great songs. This…Read MoreAnother songwriter well worth listening to is Richard Shindell – this is one of his best songs – also covered by the magnificent English folk duo Show of Hands – check out their Witness CD
This song by Show of Hands always makes me cry! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XdycmeAC-qw
That song, “Santiago,” is lovely! I really like it a lot. That’s my favorite of the bunch. I’ll share this with my wife, I’m sure she’ll love it too. So, you succeeded in doing what I desired for this GROUP — to expose each other to new music and hopefully, with our minds and ears open, we’ll discover artists and music that is new and special to us.

Currently listening to…Radiohead.
Radiohead is one of the greatest bands of all time, IMO. They’re up there with my all-time favorite bands like The Beatles, Zeppelin, Yes, Genesis, and Steely Dan (okay, not really a band, but songwriters and a bunch of studio musicians). I’d consider The Beatles the greatest band of all time, but I’d…Read More

I was made aware of the music of the profoundly talented Madison Cunningham around a decade ago. She’s the musical heir of Jeff Buckley in many ways, an artist I really greatly appreciated. Her music has been in my headphones for many hours when working on this site.

I don’t recall being blown away by an artist like I am with Madison Cunningham since Jeff Buckley. I think @gregjazz who’s responsible for me being aware of her several years back when he was preparing to sample a rubber neck guitar and forwarded me her excellent song, “Pin It Down.” If the world got music right, Madison would be selling out…Read More

Madison Cunningham is an amazing talent. She represents one of the times that the Grammy’s got it right. Her name is up there with Jeff Buckley and Kevin Gilbert, IMO. Her voice, her playing (she plays guitar, bass, piano, and drums) are simply wonderful.
As people age, they’re prone to keep listening to the same old music and close their…Read More

Currently listening to Madison Cunningham. She’s been out for about a decade now, and won some Grammy awards. Still her YouTube channel still has only 53k subscribers. It should at least have a billion. To those my age who love to complain that there’s no good music anymore, just listen.

I’ve become infatuated with Heilung. They themself call it Amplified History. It’s based on old pagan European traditions, pre-Christian pre-Roman era. Little is known about that time in terms of music, they had drums, they had their voice and perhaps some weird snared instrument. The lyrics come from old…Read More
Hey, this is perfect for a forum section I plan on creating this week that I think people will love. It’s going to feature links to video tutorials we recommend, films (documentaries, mock documentaries, dramatic and comedic movies related to music), concert viideos, etc. What do you think? Would you want to see that section? We really need to get…Read More

I’ve always had a love and joy in discovering new music and new artists. As we age, the tendency is to close our minds to what’s new and stay nostalgic for the familiar, and I definitely appreciate and love the familiar, but I haven’t lost my fascination with what’s new. I’d love to learn what new bands and artists people have recently discovered.

While I know that Rick Beato is not everyone’s “cup of tea”, I think he may be starting a new series for “discovering” artists. He did this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-HClpltznw) and as a result sent a LOT of people to her YouTube channel. Great listen
3 CommentsI like Beato as well, I’ve actually learned a lot watching what makes this song great. Good entertainment🤘

I’m listening to the music of my late friend Cory Pelizzari. Some folks — not enough for his talent — knew him as an influencer. I used to refer to him as the only influencer I ever respected (considering that I’ve known a bunch of influencers, I realize that may not sit well with people, but it’s true). Like all the rest of us, Cory was…Read More
