1. What country do you live in?
I live in Canada (Ontario, specifically)
2. What musical instrument(s) do you play and when did you start playing?
I play the piano. I started playing when I was around 10 years old.
3. Do you sing?
Yup! My favorite thing to do ever.
4. What level of experience do you have with audio engineering?
I’m pretty new to it. Still trying to get the hang of things and learn more.
5. What genres of music do you play?
Well, I’m trying to form a band and not really boxed into a genre…it’s experimental and chameleon like. the closest way i could describe it is sorta experimental doom-alt. Once the band is formed this will prob get more refined.
6. What are some of the musical artists and music that inspire you?
The core bands that inspire me (and my vision for the band) are:
evanescence
deftones
linkin park
a perfect circle
the sins of thy beloved
chevelle
flyleafThe music in general that inspires me is anything that has a balance between heaviness and beauty. I’m really drawn to that contrast regardless of genre really…though they (the bands i listed above) are all loosely related to metal which is mainly what i listen to. I also am really drawn to really emotive music.
7. Do you do music as a hobby, semi-professionally, or professionally? If you’re a hobbyist did you once do music professionally or semi-professionally?
Well the plan is to become professional. Music used to always be a passion for me ever since a kid. However, I didn’t get the chance to even think of pursuing it professionally. I just decided recently last year that screw it this is the dream!!! So yeah, working on getting things together. Once the band is formed it’ll be a collaborative journey to achieving that dream 🙂
BONUS QUESTION
Do you have any musical goals you hope to accomplish?
Yeah, several. I aim to be able to slowly improve my piano and music theory skills since there was a gap where I stopped playing for a few years. I only recently picked it back up. I also want to refine my vocals skills more.
