I’m really looking forward to seeing the outstanding Canadian singer / songwriter James Keelaghan at the Black Swan Folk Club here in York, England in a few weeks time. His song ‘Cold Missouri Waters’ is possibly the most moving song I have ever heard and he has plenty more up to the same standard. Check him out – he’s a great performer too!

Another songwriter well worth listening to is Richard Shindell – this is one of his best songs – also covered by the magnificent English folk duo Show of Hands – check out their Witness CD

That song, “Santiago,” is lovely! I really like it a lot. That’s my favorite of the bunch. I’ll share this with my wife, I’m sure she’ll love it too. So, you succeeded in doing what I desired for this GROUP — to expose each other to new music and hopefully, with our minds and ears open, we’ll discover artists and music that is new and special to us.

Cool. I wasn’t aware of James Keelaghan and his music before today.
Now, I know you probably think all I do is listen to rock and anything with loud drums (Animal from the Muppets is my hero, it’s true!), but I love folk rock. My father’s favorite band when I was a kid was SImon and Garfunkle, and I quickly became a fan of the great songs. This is really nice.
Thanks for sharing it, Joe.
