I have a Spotify playlist with my favorite songs of all time on it. I’ve pretty much done research on each song to learn more about its meaning. One of those songs is Jimmy Cliff’s “Many Rivers to Cross.” He wrote the song during a period of great disappointment, after moving to England in hopes of a career in music. Jimmy had said that he thought his dream was over when he wrote this incredible song, which ended up being his breakthrough and an amazing testimony to his talents as a songwriter and singer.

RIP, Jimmy Cliff. Thank you for the beautiful gift of music you gave us.
