Happy birthday to my favorite developer and sincerely one of the best human beings you could find on this planet, @gregjazz Greg was the person who encouraged me to attempt to play again around 3 years ago during the pandemic — around 20 years since I left music behind due to an injury causing lifelong tendonitis that makes playing drums even for less than a minute painful and yes, means that being on the computer too long also causes pain. I wouldn’t have kept trying without Greg’s encouragement and if you like LinkedMusicians and the ideals behind the concept, if any of that didn’t happen, this site wouldn’t exist.
This song — yes completely ruined in a schmaltz version used in an 80s show — has incredible meaning to me. My youngest sister who died way too young (26) easily the closest friend I’ve ever known and the pianist and Wurly player in our family band — used to sing this song to each other. A special dedication to my friend, Greg.

It may come as a shock, but Dave Grohl cites Andrew Gold as one of his all-time favorite songwriters, responsible for what he considers the greatest songs ever written.
