Qualifies you? Bapu, you are the king of this wall. Also, I absolutely love those Yamaha drums. Back when I was a working drummer — maybe around 18 or so, I auditioned for a band that just won or took second place (I can’t recall) in Budweiser’s search for the US’ best country band. They were amazing players, and I didn’t even like much country music. But I auditioned with them and used a Yamaha Custom kit they had set up. I loved it. I should have bought one (I still own two Tama kits, even though I can’t play for more than 30 seconds without pain; I need to sell them, but it’s hard to do, emotionally TBH). They liked my drumming and then they told me I needed to sing leads on some songs their former drummer handled. I didn’t even try. I said thanks and wished them well. But I remember that kit and the sound very fondly. It’s up there, not quite with Wurlies for me, but close.

Topic of discussion sometime – Drop D tuner vs 5 string (or BEAD 4 string) . I have one 5 string, a Fender Squier Jaguar 5, which I got used to playing but prefer sticking with 4 strings and if I need a little more low end I drop the E string down to D.
